Plain Language Summary:

Although treatments for hemophilia have improved dramatically and help prevent bleeding, many people still experience challenges related to both the disease and its treatment. A real-world study of 446 people with hemophilia found ongoing physical and emotional burdens regardless of disease severity or treatment type. The most common treatment-related challenges involved physical and emotional impacts, while pain, reduced physical functioning, anxiety, and depression were the biggest disease-related concerns. These findings highlight the importance of considering patients’ everyday experiences when developing personalized treatment plans.
