Plain Language Summary:

Sickle cell disease is the world’s most common inherited blood disorder, affecting millions of people. To better understand and support individuals living with the condition, the Indiana Sickle Cell Data Collection program combines information from multiple healthcare and public health sources into a single dataset. The data are displayed through an online dashboard that helps healthcare providers, public health officials, and community organizations identify patient needs, improve care, and better support people with sickle cell disease throughout their lives.
