A short interview with Kristi Dickson, MD - Internist
What do you like about IHTC and its approach to care?
I am consistently impressed by the comprehensive and holistic approach to care that IHI/IHTC provides to patients with blood disorders, and their families. The Center’s certification as a medical home really speaks to its commitment to providing high quality, whole-person, patient-centered care. I am proud to be part of an organization whose mission promotes going above and beyond to provide exceptional care to every patient.
What inspires you about your work?
I am inspired by the dedication and collegiality of my co-workers. The Center’s leadership, clinical care teams, pharmacy team, researchers, educators, and support staff all strive to work together to put our patients first. This environment has refocused my passion for patient care.
What do you hope to accomplish for patients?
I hope my experience in primary care and lifestyle medicine will be an asset to the adult care team and enhance their proactive approach to patient care. I am excited to be involved in our initiative to identify and address cardiovascular risk factors in our adult patients with bleeding disorders as we strive to improve their overall health and prevent future cardiovascular events. I also hope to assist patients with unmet primary care needs and provide resources to help them establish a solid relationship with a primary care physician. My goal is to provide each patient with the time and attention necessary to address their unique needs and goals, and to partner with them as they navigate their health challenges.
